  1. The Justice Court deals with minor misdemeanors, violations of ordinances, small claims cases, and infractions committed in their territorial jurisdiction.
  2. The Juvenile Court specifically adheres to children under 18 by focusing on either crime they have committed or crime that has been committed against them. It has control over traffic infractions for children under 18 while also having the administration over probation.
  3. The District Court has general jurisdiction and handles all civil cases and all criminal felonies such as homicides, assaults, drug offences, robbery, forges, arson, and certain misdemeanors.
  4. The Court of Appeals hears all appeals from the Juvenile and District Courts and has similar jurisdiction to the Supreme Court.
  5. The Supreme Court is the "court of last resort," but they can hear first degree and capital felony convictions from the District Court and can handle civil judgements.
